I want to be like Herb and Dorothy Vogel. Not completely like them, but a lot like them. The documentary about this unassuming couple that has amassed one of the world's most significant modern art collections is inspiring to me as we begin our own collection with Cleveland artists. I look forward to visiting their collection at the National Gallery in Washington DC and hopefully soon at a museum in Ohio. Look for this doc at an art house theater near you, and on PBS later this year. Theirs is a very inspiring story.
This film wasn't the only highlight of today's CIFF events - I also treated myself to a very civilized lunch with my friend, Nikki, at Muse in the Ritz-Carlton. We both enjoyed our pre-fix menu selections and the delicious french press coffee. While we dined, we made plans for a ski trip to Colorado in early April. Time to do some lifts and lunges to get ready - I'm going to ski as well as work on my snowboarding skills.
