We are in a frenzy of crewing up, ordering equipment, and overall planning for the shoot. I am always grateful for our banker at Key Bank, Laurie, who is always helpful when I'm making large purchases all on the same day. It's not easy prepping from overseas, but not impossible. I just have to carve out a few hours each day which is tough while traveling and internet connections are not reliable.
Some tips that are always worth noting: give time for credit card processing for purchases and when making advance payments. If you are ordering $25,ooo worth of film and your bank limits your daily spending, you'll need to prepare for that purchase.
Be sure to track packages to make sure they are on the right path to your door, especially when there is film involved.
Pay more if you can to get the best crew members. That makes all the difference in a smooth production.
And take vitamins - you cannot get sick at this stage!
