"Set Shoes"

The right shoes are so important for a long day on set. You can be sure that you will be tired and sore after waking up very early, lugging equipment (even producers have heavy bags of laptops, pre-pro books, office supplies, etc. to carry), running during setups, or walking far distances between the set and the video village. So, if you are not giving your feet proper arch support and comfort, you'll suffer more than the average producer does.

I've been looking for "set shoes" that give me this comfort and support, but also look somewhat fashionable. I don't want giant white sneakers, I don't want hiking boots, but I want something that I can wear all day and look good wearing. Last winter I wore a boot by Born that is as comfortable as a running shoe and warmer, plus it looks great.

For summers, I found a decent running shoe that doesn't look too bad, but I'm still on the hunt for that perfect production shoe. I'm loving the ease that Zappos offers me - I can pick 5-6 pairs, ship them quickly, and try them on at home. What I don't want to keep is an easy return. And I'm liking the hybrid running/hiking/type of shoe, so I'll keep ordering until I find the perfect match. And then I might just get 2-3 pairs.
