I've been working with SAGA Productions for about a year now as they are here from Switzerland and need an American company to co-produce, but I just recently joined the day-to-day efforts of the project and will be with them on set for a few weeks. Today shooting began with the closing shot for the film, a lineup of the Slavic Village neighborhood's residents featured in the film and Tony Brancatelli, their Councilman:
It's a beautiful shot: all of these characters, each one so different, standing in front of a symbol of hope in their neighborhood - a potential community center site - and the setting sun outlines the rooftops of the houses against the wall. This project promises to be very interesting as a mock trial to determine responsibility for the housing crisis just may shed some new light on the situation, for all of us.
I'm looking forward to this project and getting to know the French and Swiss crew.
