The Editing Room

. Friday, September 4, 2009

So we are introducing Mike O'Brien, our new editor, to about 145 interviews with bright and articulate Americans. That's about 145 hours of content. And he's also watching hundreds of hours of running, running, running, injuries, struggles, challenges and hope in the footage that tells the stories of the runners.

It's wonderful to be reminded, after so many months away from the project, how the footage is so strong. Now the challenge will be to pare down 350 hours of content and make the tough decisions about how to tell the story. As we work through that process, I'm sure we'll learn some lessons and I'll have more to share...
Kudos again to the RA film crew: Andreas Von Scheele, Rick Baraff, Steve Clack, Corey Gegner, and Amira Soliman. We have this great footage because of you guys. You rock.
